Rosters Announced for GOJHL All-Star Day

The Golden Horseshoe Conference will be well represented at the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Future Stars and Top Prospects games Dec. 27. The event is being hosted by the Ayr Centennials and being held at the North Dumfries Community Centre.

“After having to cancel last year we couldn’t be more excited to have this incredible event back on the ice,” GOJHL commissioner Brent Garbutt said. “We have some of the best 16-, 17-, and 18-year old hockey players in Ontario ready to impress the scouts.”

The Future Stars roster features the top 16-year-old players in the GOJHL and includes Dominic DiFrancesco, Nicholas Holomego and Nolan Lane of the Fort Erie Meteors and Avery Alves of the Niagara Falls Canucks on Team White and Nolan Shaw and Luke Breander of the Pelham Panthers, Parker Forlin and Lucas Tuin of the St. Catharines Falcons, Daniel Vasic and Callum Cheynowski of the Thorold Blackhawks and Daniel Thomakos and Gabriel Chiarot of the Welland Junior Canadians on Team Black. 

Meteors coach/general manager Nik Passero will be an assistant coach on Team White.

The Top Prospects roster features the top 17 and 18-year-olds in the GOJHL and includes Jordan Schanbacher, Cameron Lowe and Chris Reid of the Falcons, Joe Macchione, Matthew Herb and Luke Gualtieri of the Meteors, Connor Haynes and Nathan Phillips of the Hamilton Kilty B’s, Tyler Isherwood of the Junior Canadians, Philip Caridi of the Panthers, Izayah Luddington and Christian Lynch of the Thorold Blackhawks and Alexander Hebblethwaite of the Canucks. 

Falcons head coach Tyler Bielby and assistants Rick Girhiny, Greg Jambrosich and Matt Miller will be behind the bench while St. Catharines equipment manager Larry Deslauruer and athletic trainer Carlo Cardelli will also be on hand. 

The Future Stars game starts at 4 p.m. followed by the Top Prospects game in 7 p.m.
