Meteors 2023 In Review

It was an eventful and memorable 2023 for the Fort Erie Meteors in variety of ways, both on and off the ice.

Head coach Nik Passero named to staff of U18 GOJHL All-Star team to compete at St. Andrews College in the MacPherson Tournament. Meteor forward Joe Macchione named to roster.

Joe Macchione, Nik Passero and the U18 GOJHL All-Stars win the MacPherson tournament at St. Andrews College.

Feb. 11, 2023

Meteors win 12th straight game at home with 3-1 over the St. Catharines Falcons and set a program record for wins in a season in the process.

Meteors honour eight graduating seniors with pre-game ceremony and post-game celebration.

March 1, 2023

Sam Barrett scores the overtime winner in Game 1 of the Golden Horseshoe quarter-finals versus the Niagara Falls Canucks.

March 10, 2023

Marcus Regina and Dominic Di Francesco score in Game 6 to move the Meteors past the Canucks in Round 1 of the GOJHL playoffs.

March 18, 2023

Sam Barrett (OT Sammy) earns his nickname with his second overtime goal of the playoffs as the Meteors take Game 2 of the Golden Horseshoe semifinals at home versus the Kilty B’s.

March 23, 2023

Meteors are eliminated by Hamilton in Game 5 of the Golden Horseshoe semifinals, spelling the end for the winningest team in program history.

Macklin’s Meteors night in Fort Erie as the Meteors raise $25,000 for Macklin Stoner and his family. Macklin is a two-year-old Fort Erie native who has been diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma Leukemia.
