GOJHL Top Prospects Set for Dec 27

The top young stars of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League will convene in Ayr Dec. 27 for the GOJHL’s Top Prospects games.

The event features the top 16-and 17-year-old players throughout the league.

Game times are 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors/students and $5 for children under 12.

A portion of the proceeds from the games go to the Frank Santarossa Scholarship Fund which provides financial assistance to GOJHL players to assist them in furthering their education. 

Team Shepley, coached by Lasalle Vipers coach Chad Shepley, features three Golden Horseshoe Conference players — goaltender Cal Gardner of the St. Catharines Falcons, defenceman Carter Timmins of the Welland Junior Canadians and rearguard Keagan Knight of the Pelham Panthers.

Strathroy Rockets coach Jason Williams will have Hayden Jefferey of the Falcons in goal, defencemen Andrew MacNeil of the Fort Erie Meteors and Benjamin Radley of the Hamilton Kilty B’s and forward Hunter Coley of the Meteors and Noah Read of the Falcons on his Team Williams roster.

Team Passero will have Mets assistant coach Anthony Passero as head coach and Fort Erie general manager/coach Nik Passero as assistant.

Golden Horseshoe members of Team Passero are: Forwards Liam Beamish and Dominic DiFrancesco of the Mets and Brayden Russell of the Caledonia Corvairs. Defencemen Cam Robillard of the Meteors and Gabe Trozzo of the Port Colborne Sailors are also on the squad.

Corey Prang of the Elmira Sugar Kings will coach Team Prang and have Matthew Hlacar of the Falcons, Matthew Coates of the Junior Canadians and Cooper Drennan of the Panthers among his forwards as well as Hamilton defencemen Jaivyn Stewart and Brady Wassink and goaltender Isaac Gravelle of the Sailors.
